José Lasa Azpeitia
José Lasa Azpeitia has broad experience in employment counseling for national corporations, multinational companies, senior managers as well as within the field of sports and entertainment, providing counseling to several athletes, artists, producers, etc.
Due to his prior experience as a professional athlete, he has profound knowledge of the sports sector and of the needs of the contracting parties, therefore providing advice to several athletes and sports entities.
He specializes in soccer and basketball player transfers, providing advice on the diverse legal issues related to transactions, contracting image rights, Sponsorships, TPO, claims for intermediaries, etc.
In addition, he has broad experience in international disputes before national and international bodies and in arbitrations before chambers and Arbitration courts of FIFA and FIBA as well as before the Arbitration Court of Sports in Lausanne (TAS).
Previous Experience
Before becoming a member of the firm Laffer Abogados, he developed his professional career for five years in the Employment and Sports Law Department of Cuatrecasas, Gonçalves Pereira.
José has broad experience in the sports world as a professional basketball player with experience in the Spanish, Italian, Greek and Portuguese leagues.
